BU Small Sat

As an undergraduate student I was extensively involved with Boston University’s Small Satellite lab and after completing my degree I was hired by the University to continue my work. I was involved extensively with two projects: ANDESITE and CuPID.

    ANDESITE

ANDESITE was a fascinating project that involved a 6U cubesatellite launching a swarm of picosatellites in order to take spatially diverse magnetometer measurements of earth’s magnetosphere. Here’s a video describing the project (ignore my hair).

    CuPID

I was involved very early on in CuPID’s development helping to figure out solar arrays and laboratory test hardware. An exciting part of this job was that I got to interface with scientists and engineers at NASA Goddard, which really helped me grow as an engineer learning from people with a vast amount of experience. In addition I got to visit the space flight center and see some amazing hardware including the James Webb Space Telescope, Cassini-Huygens engineering hardware, and more.

CuPID was launched in 2021. NASA website.
